At-Home Pediatric Urgent Care in Fort Lauderdale: Care for Kids Without the Waiting Room Image

When your child is sick or injured, the last thing you want to do is sit in a crowded waiting room for hours. At InMotion Health, we bring pediatric urgent care directly to your home in Fort Lauderdale and surrounding areas, so your child can be evaluated and treated where they feel safest and most comfortable.

What Is At-Home Pediatric Urgent Care?

At-home pediatric urgent care is a concierge-style medical service where a licensed, board-certified provider comes to your home to evaluate and treat your child. Instead of driving across town and waiting to be seen, your child receives one-on-one care in a familiar environment.

InMotion Health is led by Carly Oliveri, PA-C, a board-certified Physician Assistant with extensive urgent care experience. We care for children starting at age 2 and older (with flexibility for younger children when appropriate, but not newborns).

Common Pediatric Conditions We Treat at Home

Many common childhood illnesses and minor injuries can be safely treated at home. Examples include:

  • Fever, cough, and cold symptoms
  • Flu and COVID-like symptoms
  • Sore throat and possible strep
  • Ear pain and suspected ear infections
  • Pink eye (conjunctivitis)
  • Rashes and mild skin infections
  • Mild asthma or wheezing
  • Minor cuts, scrapes, and simple lacerations
  • Mild sprains and strains

If your child’s condition is appropriate for in-home care, we can evaluate, test, treat, and prescribe medications without you ever leaving the house.

On-the-Spot Testing for Kids

One of the biggest advantages of at-home pediatric urgent care is access to rapid testing. During a home visit, we can perform point-of-care tests with results in minutes, including:

  • Rapid COVID tests
  • Rapid flu tests
  • Rapid strep tests
  • RSV testing
  • Urine testing for urinary tract infections
  • Blood glucose checks when needed

When more advanced testing is required, we partner with trusted labs for PCR and blood tests, with results typically available within 24–72 hours.

What to Expect During an In-Home Pediatric Visit

A typical at-home pediatric urgent care visit with InMotion Health includes:

  1. Simple scheduling – You request a visit online or by phone for your child.
  2. Pre-visit screening – We review symptoms to confirm that in-home care is appropriate and safe.
  3. Thorough evaluation – During the visit, we take a detailed history, perform a physical exam, and check vital signs.
  4. On-site testing – If needed, we perform rapid tests or collect samples for lab work.
  5. Personalized treatment plan – We discuss the diagnosis, treatment options, and answer your questions.
  6. Prescriptions sent to your pharmacy or delivered – Medications are e-prescribed to your preferred local pharmacy, or we can coordinate prescription delivery through trusted local pharmacy partners when available.
  7. Follow-up – We check in after the visit and review any lab results with you.

Our goal is to make pediatric urgent care as stress-free as possible for both children and parents.

Safety First: When We Recommend the Emergency Room

While many pediatric issues can be treated at home, some symptoms require immediate emergency care. We will always direct you to the ER or call 911 if your child has:

  • Severe difficulty breathing or blue lips/face
  • Chest pain or pressure
  • Severe head injury or loss of consciousness
  • Seizures
  • Severe allergic reaction (trouble breathing, swelling of tongue or throat)
  • Uncontrolled bleeding or deep, gaping wounds
  • Signs of serious dehydration (very dry mouth, no tears, no urination for many hours, lethargy)

If you are ever unsure, you can contact us to discuss your child’s symptoms. We will help you decide whether an in-home visit is appropriate or if the ER is the safest option.

Benefits of At-Home Pediatric Urgent Care for Families

Choosing at-home pediatric urgent care offers several advantages:

  • No waiting room exposure to other sick patients
  • Less stress for kids who can stay in their own environment
  • Convenience for parents who don’t have to juggle siblings, parking, and long wait times
  • More time with the provider to ask questions and understand the treatment plan
  • Transparent pricing so you know what to expect before the visit

For many families, at-home care is a safer, calmer alternative to traditional urgent care or walk-in clinics.
