Whether you’re experiencing mild symptoms or are concerned about potential exposure, our team provides fast, reliable support through in-home urgent care services or virtual consultations. From rapid testing and diagnosis to symptom management and tailored treatment plans we’re here to guide you through every stage of your recovery.
What is COVID-19?
COVID-19 is a contagious respiratory illness caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Symptoms range from mild (or even asymptomatic) to severe respiratory distress. While many people recover at home, older adults and individuals with chronic conditions may develop complications. As a leading provider of virtual and in-home urgent care, InMotion Health offers convenient, expert support for COVID-19 cases without the need for clinic visits.
How is COVID-19 Treated?
While there is no universal cure, our care focuses on symptom management, monitoring, and early intervention. For COVID‑19 concerns, we strongly encourage at-home visits whenever possible to limit exposure and provide accurate, on-the-spot testing. Our licensed medical provider will come to your home for an in‑home evaluation, providing point‑of‑care diagnostics with immediate results or, if needed, sending samples for rapid PCR analysis. Once your test results are in, we tailor your treatment plan based on your symptoms, medical history, and risk factors.
Treatment may include increased rest, staying well hydrated, and using over-the-counter remedies for fever, cough, or congestion. For patients experiencing low oxygen levels or respiratory distress, we’ll recommend going to the nearest emergency room—and if needed, we’ll call to arrange ambulance transport on your behalf. Whether you’re managing mild symptoms or need close observation due to a higher risk profile, our goal is to help you recover safely.
COVID-19 in Pediatric Patients
COVID-19 affects individuals of all ages, including infants, toddlers, and teens. While most children experience milder symptoms compared to adults, some may still develop fevers, cough, fatigue, or digestive issues.
InMotion Health understands that managing COVID-19 in children can be stressful for families. To help, we provide gentle, family-centered care right in the comfort of your home. Our providers will evaluate your child’s symptoms virtually or in person. If you opt for in‑home care, our licensed medical provider will come to you to evaluate your child in person. We provide rapid point‑of‑care testing in your home, or, if needed, we can send out samples for further evaluation.
COVID-19 Symptoms
COVID‑19 symptoms can vary widely and often overlap with other respiratory illnesses. Common signs include:
- Fever or chills
- Cough (usually dry)
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
Since symptoms can appear gradually or change over time, we offer follow-up care when needed to reassess your condition and guide next steps.
What Causes COVID-19?
COVID‑19 is caused by virus exposure, which spreads through:
- Respiratory droplets from coughs, sneezes, or talking
- Close contact with infected individuals
- Contact with contaminated surfaces followed by touching your face
The virus can spread rapidly in crowded indoor spaces and among people who do not wear masks or who are otherwise vulnerable.
Why Is COVID-19 Treatment Important?
Early intervention can reduce the risk of complications, such as pneumonia, blood clots, or long-term respiratory issues. Prompt treatment also helps shorten the duration and severity of the illness, allowing patients to feel better sooner. Additionally, receiving care early supports efforts to protect others; proper guidance on isolation, hygiene, and decontamination can prevent the spread of the virus to family members and the community.
How Should I Support My Recovery From COVID-19?
Once you’ve been diagnosed or are presumed positive, it’s important to follow a care plan to support a safe and steady recovery. Start by getting plenty of rest and avoiding strenuous activities to allow your body to heal. Stay well hydrated and eat nourishing foods when possible.
Follow public health guidelines for isolation until you are no longer contagious. Humidifiers and breathing treatments can also help relieve chest congestion and shortness of breath. Seek emergency care immediately if you experience difficulty breathing, persistent chest pain, confusion, or bluish lips or face.
